On behalf of my COPRA colleagues, welcome to the newly redesigned NASPAA Accreditation Website! COPRA remains committed to ensuring that programs have the guidance and resources needed to succeed in accreditation, and we have rebuilt our website to make it easier for you to find and share resources. COPRA is the cornerstone of the rigorous, peer review process that has been the foundation of NASPAA Accreditation for almost 40 years. The NASPAA Accreditation Standards are the quality benchmark used by graduate public service programs around the world. Accredited programs contribute to the knowledge, research, and practice of public service, establish observable goals and outcomes, and use information about their performance to guide program improvement. They practice truth in advertising and ensure their students achieve learning objectives in five domains essential to public service.
With the redesigned website, we have focused not only on improving accessibility through easy to navigate menus, but also on bolstering the resources for new programs, program directors, and site visitors. To learn more, see the details below.
Thank you for visiting! If you have questions or feedback, I look forward to hearing from you at firstname.lastname@example.org.
So, what’s new?
Organization — easy menu items help users find exactly what they are looking for, whether you are a first time applicant, reaccreditation applicant, international program, site visitor, or student. You’ll also find Quick Links on most pages, to help keep important pages at your fingertips.
Resources — a new section devoted entirely to support for programs seeking accreditation. You’ll find Official Documents, Standard by Standard Guidance, Peer Examples, including sample assessment plans and self-study reports, and Frequently Asked Questions, for every step of the process.
Videos — we are excited to unveil a new set of training videos, in conjunction with the Accreditation Institute, that are featured across the website. For those users that prefer to learn orally, these are perfect to orient you to NASPAA Accreditation, the Standards, and Site Visits. They are also the foundation of the flipped classroom, debuting for the revamped 2014 Accreditation Institute.
Process — staying on top of accreditation deadlines can be difficult, especially in the midst of program responsibilities, so we’ve simplified timelines for both initial and reaccreditation applicants. In the 2015-16 cohort? Your deadlines are here.
